Born & raised near St Louis, in Florissant, MO, I now reside in Scottsdale, AZ. Painting is a revelation for me. It’s a joy.
I also love Jazz, & painting in the abstract is very much like Jazz. Each “performance” stands alone; unique.
My goal is simple: Create emotion...out of nothing.
I use acrylics, latex, plastic, glass, epoxy resin, etc.
When painting in the Abstract, I am challenged to create something beautiful without the benefit of subject matter. The paint is the subject matter.
Create beauty & emotion out of nothing. That is what I pursue.
On occasion, of course, I do paint a subject. This is my opportunity to present familiar subjects with my abstract bent.
Living in the Sonora Desert, inspiration, both spiritual, artistic or otherwise, is never far away. The desert is an uncompromising, unyielding singularity. The desert is extreme. It has beauty & fire; life & death. All of this inspires me to create visions, both Earthly...& far far beyond, whilst paying homage to Calder, Francis, Motherwell and, of course, Pollock.
